Acupuncture is a technique in which extremely thin needles are inserted into specific acupuncture points along energetic meridians on the body. It has been practiced for over 5000 years and treats chronic and acute disease. Acupuncture treatments resolve symptoms by strengthening the functions of the body’s internal organs, the immune and hormonal systems, and brain chemistry. Acupuncture acts at a deep physiological level to effectively treat most symptoms and diseases, reduce stress, and prevent illness.
Herbal Medicine utilizes plants that have useful medicinal qualities. These range from being superfoods like ginseng, to plants that strengthen and stimulate organs and/or detoxify, eg milk thistle, or treat or prevent infections, eg echinacea. Herbs affect metabolic functions including hormones, and can have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, and cognitive enhancement, eg turmeric. Culinary spices are typically mildly medicinal, they can provide pronounced effects at higher doses.
Homeopathy stands as arguably the most profound healing system in the world. Homeopathic medicines, also known as remedies, have a documented history of effectively treating diseases and conditions ranging from musculoskeletal, to metabolic, to psychological. While homeopathy is known to be safe, and without toxic side effects as compared with pharmaceutical drugs, its reputation as a gentle healing technique must not distract us from the fact that it can powerfully treat severe pathologies. For instance homeopathy proved to be successful during cholera and flu epidemics in the late 1800s and the 1918 Spanish Flu outbreak, when pharmaceuticals failed to offer any comparable life saving benefits.

Plants and humans have evolved together over millions of years. When we ingest plants as foods or use medicinal plants as herbs, their molecular structures interact with the human body like a key fitting into a lock. Plant molecules align with human physiological systems, supporting healing, nourishment, and balance at the deepest levels.
Nature created foods, herbs, and acupuncture as powerful systems to support human health.
Herbs, as medicinal plants, naturally harmonize the body’s regulatory functions.
Acupuncture, discovered through observation of the body’s neurological responses, is not merely an invention, but a profound system of restoring physiological balance.
While insurance policies are designed to cover basic healthcare needs, true health assurance requires proactive care:
Integrating herbal medicine, homeopathy, acupuncture, nutrition, and lifestyle choices forms the foundation for enduring wellness.
These practices go beyond treating disease — they optimize vitality, enhance resilience, and help prevent chronic conditions.
Merely depending on basic insurance coverage often leaves individuals vulnerable to the gradual effects of chronic inflammation, stress, and environmental toxicity. A proactive strategy empowers you to maintain optimal health, much like regular maintenance keeps your car running smoothly.
Just as we maintain our homes and vehicles beyond catastrophic insurance coverage—aligning wheels, rotating tires, tuning engines—our bodies also require maintenance:
Acupuncture functions as a “neurological tune-up,” helping regulate nervous system balance, reduce stress, and support immune function.
Herbs, homeopathy, and nutrition act as daily tools for strengthening resilience and preventing disease before it begins.

“Dr. Trahan has successfully treated me for chronic headaches and female problems that I had been affected by for 3+ years. I began seeing him when I became exasperated with the poor results and side effects of the perscription drugs given by my MD. After a thorough consultation with Dr Trahan, he advised a combination of herbs and acupuncture treatments, which I responded so well to, that I feel better than I have in years.”
“Dr. Trahan is a fantastic acupuncturist and herbalist with over 20 years experience. He listens well and asks the right questions about the whole person, and has successfully treated me for a variety of health issues from asthma to back pain.”
“I started seeing Dr. Chris Trahan for stress-related complications due to moving to the end of the earth, aka Jersey City. My hair started falling out, my periods basically stopped, and I felt tense and irritable. Within one week of beginning acupuncture and herbal medicine with Dr. Trahan, I felt better.”
“I’m just so damn pleased. Dr. Trahan (I think he pronounced it in a single syllable”Tran”) was super flexible about my wanting to book a same-day appointment and I felt totally comfortable with him. Sweet guy.”
“Dr. Christopher Trahan is my homeopath and accupuncturist who has been trained in traditional Chinese medicine. I went to him for help with my plantar fasciitis. After my treatment with Dr. Trahan, it went from being so painful to walk to being able to walk all around the city again. I never had accupuncture before and now I am a huge fan. I also experienced back pain and after one treatment, the pain was gone. ”
“I have been going to Dr. Trahan for the past 4 years, originally for back problems but learned quick how helpful he was with a wide range of body issues. He helped me clear up a prostate infection which western medicine(antibiotics) could not deal with. He taught me a lot about herbal medicine and relaxation. He spends a great deal of time with getting to the root of the problem rather than put a “band aid” on it. He is kind and patient and very understanding to my personal problems.”
“I found Dr. Trahan through a Groupon promotion back in March, intending to go to him for a general tune-up. Having had acupuncture before, I knew generally what to expect, but I was really pleased with Dr. Trahan’s manner. He’s very warm, welcoming, and friendly. He’s also very much master of his subject, and I am completely comfortable with him when receiving acupuncture. I was energized and felt lighter after the Groupon treatment.”
“I have known Dr Christopher Trahan for over twenty years, both as a colleague as well as a patient.. He has helped me tremendously with several health issues, between his acupuncture, chinese herbs and homeopathy.. He is a kind and caring provider. I highly recommend him.”
“Dr. Trahan has treated for multiple conditions, such as digestive issues, bronchitis, sinusitis, tonsillitis, cold/flu, viruses, etc. I did not have to take anti-biotics for any of the infections – it is pretty remarkable. He is also versed in pretty much everything, it seems. So, when I go to him i know he is thinking of solutions that span herbs, homeopathy, acupuncture, etc. And he doesn’t just treat mild conditions either!”
“I was diagnosed with polycystic disease in the spring of 2007, having been symptomatic for approximately two years before that. Since 2010, dialysis has been keeping me alive, but I still experienced ongoing problems. Specifically constant fatigue, poor sleep (not long or deep enough), digestive problems, faulty balance, and a constant feeling of being cold.”
